Citizens to Rally August 1 as Part of Nationwide Day of Action Against AI Data Centers

INVERNESS, Fla. — July 27, 2026 — Residents concerned about the rapid expansion of artificial intelligence (AI) data centers are invited to join No Data Center Citrus for a public rally on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Old Courthouse in Inverness.

The rally is being held in conjunction with the nationwide Day of Action Against AI Data Centers, bringing together communities across the country to raise awareness about the potential impacts of large-scale AI and hyperscale data center development.

Participants will gather to express support for responsible land-use planning and to encourage local officials to prioritize the long-term interests of Citrus County residents. Organizers say the event is intended to demand No Data Centers in Citrus County, Not Now, Not Ever, and demonstrate community support for protecting local natural resources, infrastructure, and quality of life.

Attendees are encouraged to create and bring their own signs, although signs will also be available at the event. A group photograph will be taken promptly at 3:00 PM.

No Data Center Citrus is a grassroots organization advocating for responsible growth and informed public participation regarding proposed AI and hyperscale data center development in Citrus County.
