Deltona Corporation Seeks Continuance on Holder Industrial Park Rezoning Vote

Deltona Corporation Seeks Continuance of July 14 Board of County Commissioners Vote; Residents Urged to Attend Thursday’s PDC Meeting

CITRUS COUNTY, FL — No Data Center Citrus County (NDCC) has learned that Deltona Corporation has requested a continuance of the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) vote on its proposed rezoning and expansion of the Holder Industrial Park (HIP) for a hyperscale data center, originally scheduled for July 14, 2026. If granted, the vote would be pushed to the second BOCC meeting in November — after the upcoming elections and near the Thanksgiving holiday, a time when many residents are traveling and less able to participate.

The Planning and Development Commission (PDC) PDC will be voting on the Deltona application for expansion and rezoning at its meeting tomorrow, Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., at 3600 W. Sovereign Path, Room 166, in Lecanto. NDCC is urging residents to attend in person.

Ahead of the meeting, NDCC’s planner and intervenor submitted a letter to Joanna Coutu, Director of Citrus County’s Land Development Division, opposing the continuance request.

“We need everyone there tomorrow morning,” said Jason King, spokesperson for No Data Center Citrus County. “Deltona asking for a delay tells us they’re feeling the pressure and may be worried their application won’t hold up to scrutiny. This is exactly the moment to keep that pressure on, not ease off it. Show up, wear your No Data Center shirt, and make your voice heard.”

NDCC will continue to share updates as they become available and is encouraging supporters to attend tomorrow’s meeting in large numbers.
